    UAE, Russia discuss enhancing parliamentary cooperation

    MENA Newswire News Desk: Maryam bin Theneya, the Second Deputy Speaker of the UAE’s Federal National Council (FNC), met with Konstantin Kosachev, Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, to discuss enhancing cooperation between their legislative bodies. The talks took place on the sidelines of the Eurasian Women’s Forum held in Saint Petersburg.

    UAE, Russia discuss enhancing parliamentary cooperation

    The two officials explored avenues for strengthening parliamentary ties and boosting communication on a range of issues of mutual interest. Discussions focused on the significance of collaboration in parliamentary forums, aiming to foster more productive engagement between the UAE and Russia in international legislative settings.

    The meeting also emphasized the importance of cross-cultural exchanges, which both sides agreed could deepen understanding and cooperation between their respective parliaments. Both bin Theneya and Kosachev highlighted their commitment to fostering stronger bilateral relations through parliamentary diplomacy.

    The Eurasian Women’s Forum, a prominent international gathering, provided the backdrop for these discussions. The forum’s focus on gender equality and women’s leadership further underscored the value of such parliamentary partnerships, promoting dialogue that can enhance the legislative impact on social and political development.

    Kosachev remarked that these engagements help solidify Russia’s parliamentary relations with global partners like the UAE, contributing to more comprehensive diplomatic ties.
