    OCCI receives business delegation from the Czech Republic

    Eng. Ridha Juma Al Saleh, Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) received a business delegation from the Czech Republic, headed by Dr. Petr Mixa, Deputy Director General of the Czech Geological Survey (CGS). In the meeting, ways of improving the trade balance were discussed. Also covered were fields for cooperation and partnerships in investment sectors, such as mining, as well as exchange of expertise and knowledge transfer in light of Oman Vision 2040.

    OCCI receives business delegation from the Czech RepublicChairman of the OCCI explained that the purpose of the meeting was to strengthen the relationships between the two countries and to expand their horizons in order to serve the interests of both countries, besides promoting trade and investment relations. According to him, the aim of the meeting was to accelerate the signing of commercial partnerships and qualitative investments to benefit economic sectors as quickly as possible.

    In addition, the OCCI Chairman said the economy of the Sultanate of Oman and the Czech Republic offers many exciting prospects. In 2021, trade between the two countries reached more than RO 6.659 million, while imports totaled more than RO 797,600. Over RO 5.862 million in exports were recorded. Oman exports medicines and medical solutions to the Czech Republic, while it imports cars and machinery parts.

    In addition to reviewing investment opportunities in the Czech Republic, Dr. Mixa also discussed collaboration opportunities. The Omani businessmen and their Czech counterparts met on the sidelines of the visit. The purpose of these meetings is to exchange business experiences and opportunities, while encouraging business owners to establish commercial partnerships to enhance trade exchange between the two countries.
