The first cohort includes 22 startups and 8 AI professionals, all focused on addressing significant industry challenges through AI. The program is designed to rapidly advance the development of artificial intelligence technologies in the UAE, aligning with the country’s strategic goal of becoming a global leader in AI. Over a 4-week sprint, startups will tackle real-world business problems presented by prominent UAE companies, including Emirates airline, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Dubai Holding, and Chalhoub Group. These challenges aim to foster innovative solutions that leverage the latest developments in AI, with a focus on commercial and social impact.

Participants will collaborate with Meta’s engineering teams and have the opportunity to be fast-tracked into a global program sponsored by Meta. The most promising startups may receive up to $500,000 in funding to further develop their AI solutions. Meta’s open-source AI models, including Llama 3.1, will be the cornerstone of this initiative, providing startups with cutting-edge tools to solve complex challenges.

The Llama Design Drive is expected to boost the UAE’s AI ecosystem, fostering collaboration between startups and corporations while solidifying the nation’s position as a global AI leader. The Llama Design Drive underscores the UAE’s commitment to fostering a robust and innovative AI ecosystem, creating pathways for both startups and established companies to collaborate on groundbreaking solutions. This accelerator program represents a significant milestone in the country’s push toward AI-driven innovation and economic growth.
