    Meeting between Oman and Egypt marks Muscat Arab Digital Capital 2022

    Eng. Said Hamoud Al Ma’awali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, met online with Dr. Amr Talaat, Egyptian Minister of Communications and Information Technology. Al Ma’awali commended Oman for its win in the 3rd edition of the Arab Digital Capital 2022 initiative. In the first edition, the initiative was won by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, while the second edition was won by Egypt.

    Meeting between Oman and Egypt marks Muscat Arab Digital Capital 2022In addition, he emphasized Oman’s keenness to develop the communications and information technology sector through various initiatives aiming to improve the sector’s infrastructure. In addition, he emphasized Oman’s willingness to develop institutional and individual capabilities. The Oman Vision 2040 aims to increase digital awareness among all segments of society to move towards a digital economy.

    Undersecretaries, specialists, and advisors representing the communications and information technology fields attended the meeting. Other participants included the foreign ministries of Oman and Egypt, the Arab League, and the Arab regional office of the International Telecommunication Union.
